Kavita Dorai
Dr Kavita Dorai is an experimental physicist whose research is poised at the interface of Physics and Biology. Her research focuses on NMR Quantum Computing, NMR Metabolomics, Diffusion NMR, NMR Spin Relaxation and NMR Methodology. Kavita obtained her MSc in physics from IIT Kanpur in 1990 and her PhD in Experimental Physics from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 1999. After postdoctoral stints at the University of Frankfurt Germany, the University of Dortmund Germany and Carnegie Mellon University Pittsburgh USA, she joined the physics faculty of IIT Madras in 2005. She moved to the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali in August 2007, when it was set up by the Government of India as an Institute of National Importance. She currently is the convener of the NMR Research Facility at IISER Mohali, a facility that she set up in 2010.
